Pilar Agueci
Pilar Agueci is a Goldsmith making contemporary jewellery in her bright Montreal studio. Growing up in a professional metal shop has influenced her technique, as well as her choice of tools and materials. Her experience is exhibited in the quality of her work combined with her use of nonconventional finishes. The development of her pieces is rooted in the fundamental principles of design. Pilar strives to embrace a variety of new techniques and learn their distinctive qualities.
Pilar has a Bachelor of Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCADU). Following graduation, Pilar was Resident Artist at the Glasgow School of Art. She studied with renowned contemporary jeweller Ruudt Peters, and at institutions such as Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School. Her technical skills were refined through her work with notable contemporary jewellers, most recently Janis Kerman.
Pilar is dedicated to the promotion and diffusion of contemporary jewellery, and strives todemonstrate the benefit of pursuing a career in the realm of craft.
Pilar exhibits her work in galleries and boutiques across Canada.
